Hartford County’s first publicly accessible compressed natural gas fueling station for cars and trucks will open in Bloomfield at 2 p.m. Friday.

The Yellow Cab Co. will open the CNG station to the public at its headquarters at 86 Granby St. in Bloomfield.

The station primarily will serve the cab company’s fleet of 110 taxis powered by natural gas. The station will be available to anyone who has a CNG car. Honda recently decided to start selling its natural gas powered Civic in Connecticut.
